A Family's
Journey Through
the Tuscan Hills

Tenuta Percorso is a small family estate nestled in the hills of Montecatini Val di Cecina — a quieter corner of Tuscany where vines grow slowly at altitude and the land repays patience. The name says it plainly: percorso means journey, and ours began in earnest in 2012.

From the beginning, our aim has been straightforward — to tend our vines with care, work with the finest agronomists and enologists in the region, and let the character of this particular hillside speak in every bottle. We make very little wine, by design.

The estate sits above the Val di Cecina valley, at elevations between 130 and 310 metres depending on the vineyard. The soils are mineral-rich, the maritime breeze from the Tyrrhenian coast keeps the nights cool, and the drainage is natural. The conditions, if you honour them, make for wine of uncommon depth.

Where Soil
Becomes
Character

Our estate spans two distinct vineyards — Castro Mocajo and Castellaro Mocajo — each with its own altitude, composition, and personality. Together they cover approximately nine hectares of carefully managed vines.

We work under the guidance of enologist Atilio Pagli and agronomist Stefano Bartholomei, two of the most respected names in Tuscan viticulture. Vinification currently takes place at Vignaioli Bolgheresi — a trusted partnership that will transition to our own onsite cantina, now under construction at Mocajo.

The harvest is done by hand. The process is unhurried. The results speak for themselves.

Under Construction

Since our first vintage in 2012, we have worked in close partnership with Vignaioli Bolgheresi — a collaboration that has given our wines the craft and care they deserve. That chapter is not ending; it is evolving.

We are building our own cantina directly on the estate. A centuries-old stone farmhouse at the heart of Mocajo is being carefully restored and purpose-built to house every stage of production — from harvest through vinification, aging, and bottling — entirely under one roof, on our land.

The result will be a winery where the connection between vineyard and cellar is not a question of distance but of steps. Where decisions about extraction, temperature, and time can be made in the moment, with the vines in sight.

We expect to complete the cantina and bring production fully onsite with the 2026 harvest.

Every bottle is a
moment on the journey.

We do not rush, and we do not overproduce. Tenuta Percorso is a small estate by choice — the kind of place where every decision, from how the vines are trained to how long the wine rests, is made with the long view in mind. The land has been here long before us. We are simply its current stewards.
